As with similar demonstrations, we performed aspects of the traditional junbi undo warm up exercises, moving onto basic punching, blocking and kicking and then a few of the San Dan Gi exercises. We went on to perform Gekisai dai ichi, with bunkai. Sensei Louise and I performed Sepai kata and a few of the bunkai, before moving onto padwork, highlighting the importance of developing strong punching power, along with elbow and knee strikes. We finished off with Sanchin kata.
It was a great day with lots of friendly people and good performances from the various dance groups and the local Tang Soo Do club. We'll be back in 2016, hopefully with a larger contingent!
